PREGNANCY: Slow heartbeat at 6w6d - what does this mean for the baby? From: Beth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Feb 2009 02:18:50 -0600 (CST)
Hello and thank you for taking the time to answer this question. I conceived via a frozen embryo transfer, and the clinic places me at 6w6d. I had my first ultrasound today, and the doctor didn't measure the sac, the embryo, or the heartbeat. There was a faint pulsation on the screen, and the doctor said the heartbeat was there. I asked whether the heart was too slow, and he wouldn't give me a straight answer. He only said that I should go to my regular ObGyn in a week for another ultrasound that would be more conclusive. Of course I'm extremely worried now, as I've miscarried twice before. What sort of chances might this baby have at this stage? Thank you, Beth
