INFERTILITY: Can a heavy period clear a blocked fallopian tube?From: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Feb 2009 13:29:24 -0600 (CST)
My left tube is blocked. It is not due to scar tissue but probably something else. Both tubes were clear prior to the conception of my first child. I then became pregnant again, but after 11 weeks, miscarried. A D&C was performed. After a year of trying, a HSG showed my left tube is blocked and the MD thought it was due to tissue traveling up the tube from the D&C. I passed a huge clot of blood last night (I started my period 2 days prior). I have been having a heavy period this time round. My left tube is usually hard and sore, but after I had passed that clot of blood (or tissue, don't know what it contained), my left tube felt normal (not hard) and there was no more soreness. Is it possible that whatever was blocking my left tube was released during my menstrual cycle? Any help is greatly appreciated. R, Jennifer
