MENORRHAGIA: late period, not pregnant, on new drugFrom: dlandry (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 12 Feb 2009 22:05:13 -0600 (CST)
This July I had an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured and I lost my left tube. I had finally started cycles again in September. They were very regular until December. I started cycle on time, but it lasted almost 3 weeks. I also began taking lamotrigine for BP 5 days into that cycle. Now I haven't had a period since. My primary doctor says this drug would not affect my cycle like this and the psychiatrist agrees. I went to Gynocologist and she did absolutely no tests..not even blood pressure check..just said it was the lamotrigine..and now prescribed provera to me. I am having intermittent pelvic pain on the same side tube was removed and having an exceesive amount of cervical mucous discharge for 3 weeks straight..now spotting after sex. Can the lamotrigine do this? Should my gynocologist have done some test or an exam? Both other docors say it is not the lamotrigine..I am so confused.
