It's often said and almost always true: there's no such thing as a dumb
question. Your experience with pain and discomfort during your procedure
sounds miserable and I'm sorry to hear you had to go through it. I
would not
however assume that the discomforts were related to endometriosis. Most
likely they were not.
IUI most of the time should be experienced in a manner very similar to a
PAP
test. Occasionally, there is a mild to moderate cramping pain during the
passage of the catheter. Rarely there is more pain. At least
theoretically,
this discomfort might interfere with success but most likely it will
not.
You might ask your physician if it's OK to take medication before the
insemination. If you need the IUI, please don't let these discomforts
stop
you from having it done.
