PREGNANCY: Very low amniotic fluid level in 24 weeks due to ibuprofenFrom: Nancy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 Jan 2009 22:43:13 -0600 (CST)
Hi, Iam currently in 24 weeks of pregnancy and I had a cerclage put 2 weeks back and since then I was on various medications like magnesium sulfate, zofran, indomethacin and then I am put on regular dosage of terbutaline (through pump)and ibuprofen (600 mg 6X). Today, they checked the fluid level and found that it has reduced to 3 from 17 in a week. They have taken me off the ibuprofen for now. My question is whether my baby's kidneys will be permanently affected by the medications? What other risks I can expect from the medications I am currently on and those which were given to me. I am worried sick and any advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
