GYNECOLOGIC: Night Sweats . . . not good.From: KamiGirl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 22 Jan 2009 12:48:47 -0600 (CST)
Hi all, First of all, thanks for reading my post as I'm at a complete loss and have pretty much extinguished just about all resources . . . I've been diagnosed (via laparoscopy) with endometriosis after many years of extremely heavy and painful periods. To deal with this, and I might say, quite successfully, I have been on CBC (NuvaRing) for the last few years. While I do have the occasional spotting, I can deal as it's nothing compared to what my symptoms were. Here's my problem . . . for the last 4 months or so, I've been having night sweats. Started out a couple of times a month, but now it's increased to almost every night. In the last 3 months, I've noticed blurred vision at unpredictible times however, it has occurred when I have been sedentary (i.e. Sunday morning, lying in bed watching TV.) I didn't think anything of it at the time, that I was just tired, but now I'm beginning to wonder . . . I have also had essential tremors for as long as I can remember, however, they have also gotten much worse and more frequent in the last 6 months. Before, I would only notice them with large amounts of caffeine or extreme stress/anxiety (like from a car accident), but now, while they're still fine tremors only in my hands, they occur almost daily. I have no idea if any of my symptoms are related. I have taken medication for the tremors, but have stopped as it was interfering with my BC and causing add'l breakthrough bleeding. My main complaint are the night sweats. I went to my OBGYN, who did a TB test (negative). His plan of action is for me to take out the NuvaRing (which I did last week and am having HORRIBLE withdrawal symptoms, ugh) and wait a month to have my hormone levels tested. I'm a grad student, so I've got access to medical journals and have been doing all the research I can but keep coming up empty. Any ideas? Suggestions? ANYTHING!!!!! Thanks!
