All my life I have had periods with severe cramping. Rather than have a warning as to when my period will come, the cramping, starting and PMSing happen all in the same day. I thought this would decrease after I had children but it has not. My period lasts for a week sometimes more. Problem is there is a day in that week when my period stops for a day and then it restarts. I have had ovarian cists which were taken care of with medicine and my mother's mom had cervical cancer. My mom said she had to have a D & C because of her cramping but that was in the 6os, I do not want to do the same. What could be the problem and should I at least discuss the D & C with my doctor?
