PCOS: pregnancy with PCOS

Hello, I have PCOS and present with symptoms like amenorrhea and anovulation, but no insulin resistance and no weight problems (118 lb, 25 years old). My doctor prescribed metformin 1500 mg/day (all the time), progesterone to induce periods, clomid 100mg during days 5-9. This induces ovulation as shown by day 21 progesterone levels. First cycle of aforementioned therapy did not result in pregnancy. I just finished second treatment cycle (coincidentally Day 1 was on december 1, 2008) and think I may be pregnant. I have to stop taking metformin as soon as i am pregnant, but unfortunately with all the holidays, my doctor is out of town and I can't get a hold of her. I did blood pregnancy test on December 29th (lab technicians were working), but there's no nurse or doctor on duty until January 12th.

Currently I'm experiencing frequent urination (no pain or burning); some cramping (it was more intense few days ago); i think breast tenderness, but it's somewhat subjective; no nausea and no morning sickness. I bought a home pregnancy test today and it showed as "not pregnant". So, I am not sure if I am pregnant and thus should stop taking metformin. Any advice on how can I find a definite answer before Jan. 12th?

Thank you for your input, N.N.
