Diane,

Yes ob/gyn's specialize in different areas. It took several ob/gyn's and four laparoscopies before diagnosing endometriosis. Since then, I have had an additional 6 laparoscopies to remove adhesions and endo. One question I would ask your doctor now is about adenomyosis. I just had a laparoscopy in June and am still experiencing pain. My doctor believes I also have adenomyosis, which would explain the pain. I also recently saw a urologist that specializes in women's pelvic pain and interstitial cystitis. He referred my to a physical therapist that specialized in women's health and I am seeing some positive results from that. So, don't give up hope!
