Four days ago I missed a pill, but the next day I took two at the same time. Yesterday I got my period--heavy bleeding, not just spotting. I have pretty intense pelvic pain--slightly more intense than what I experience during a normal period. My questions are: Is it normal for one missed dose to cause me to get my period? Should I stop taking them and allow myself to have my period? If I keep taking my pills, is my period likely to stop? (My friend missed three days of pills once, but continued to take the next two weeks of her pack, and experienced spotting and pain the whole time).
