Re: CHRONICPAIN: Dr. has theory, I just dont understandFrom: D (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 28 Oct 2008 10:05:26 -0500 (CDT)
Monday night I had intense pelvic pain. Nothing seemed to work, I have vicodine, pamelor, tens unit. I've been on lupron for 3 injections. I get the pudental/ilionguinal nerve block shots So I e-mailed my doctor who's 1 1/2 hours away & told him, maybe lupron isn't working. The nurse called & explained it this way.. . . lupron shuts the ovaries down & stops my period ((I had novasure, I don't bleed)) their belief is that I have cyclic pain. after 6 months of lupron they'll let my overies turn back on & if I get cyclic pain back-- I'll need a hysterectomy. She said I'll have flare ups, depending on how I bend, twist, stress, & I'm to stay on the vicodin to not give the pain a foothold. Be sure to keep up physical therapy at home, kegles ect. MY VIEWPOINT is. They originally told me that I have a nerve running through my pelvic floor & it's pinched causing pain. that is the reason for physical therapy, I started to do arobic exercised the nurse said no-- that's too much & I'll get a flare ups. what I don't understand is if I'm on 3 months of lupron, then by now my cycle is shut down. & If I'm having bad flare ups now, then it proves to me that a hysterectomy wouldn't stop the flare ups. It just doesn't jive, If she will admit that different movements & stress causes flare ups, then what does that have to do with cyclic pain? Do you have any opinions on this? Thanks, I'm confused Diane
