PREGNANCY: Can you get pregnant without a period?

My last period was in August and I started taking provra in September to enduce a period. It is now October and my period was suppose to come three days ago. A friend said that I might be pregnant since I do have tender breasts and some dissy spells. So I was wondering can you really get pregnant without having a period?

Please advise.
