PREGNANCY: Preemies Fight Infection - fluconazoleFrom: Hope Waltman (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 7 Oct 2008 17:31:00 -0500 (CDT)
Preemies Fight Infection A clinical trial revealed a drug -- commonly given to transplant patients -- also helps these tiny babies. Small doses of fluconazole during the first six weeks of life prevented infections in all the babies tested. Doctors are monitoring this protocol carefully to make sure there aren't any infections that are resistant to the drug. http://www.ivanhoe.com/channels/p_channelstory.cfm?storyid=19768 Best Regards, Hope Waltman, WHF and Fibroid Forum Moderator http://www.hopeforfibroids.org
