OOPHERECTOMY: Hoping someone can answer my questions...From: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 28 Aug 2008 00:30:46 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I had my left overy & tube removed about two months ago because of endometriosis & endometriomas and laser removal of endometriosis and removal of adhesions. I am currently on my sixth day of the second period since the surgery. I still have a lot of cramping during my period and pain on the left side. Should I still be having pain on the left side if the ovary and tube are now gone? Also, should the menstrual cramps be less if I just had the endometriosis removed? Since the surgery, my bladder has been aching...is this normal after this type of surgery? I also have an area right next to my belly button on the left side that is swollen (about the size of a soft ball) but it is not tender....would this be just from the surgery? Last question...since I only have one ovary does that mean I will only ovulate and menstruate every other month? Thanks!
