CHRONICPAIN: Just not sure!From: kjjggh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Aug 2008 19:34:32 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I am new here and looking to see if anyone may know what I am experiencing. A little history on me, I am 30 with 2 kids 10 & 3. I have always had a problem with ovarian cysts since I can remember. I had a tubal done 3 years ago. Within the past 2 years I have been having extreme pain, almost constant from the cysts. About a year and a half ago, I was in such pain that I went to the ER, they looked at me like I was crazy...yet still gave me a pelvic ultrasound. The attending physician informed me that I had several cysts on each side, and that they all appeared to be normal. I took the results my normal Dr. and she had me start keeping a log of the pain and such. I did so for 6 months, and at the end she told me to take pain medication when needed and that this was common. Well, over the past 5-6 months things have just been getting out of hand. I have a "light" period about 2 weeks after my normal period, each month, with other spotting as well. The cramping that I get is tremendous. And I have a constant pain on my lower left abdominal area, and lots of pressure when sitting on the same side. Sometimes the pain is sharp, throbbing, cramping, and others it's just discomfort. I have noticed that anytime I do any strenuous activity such as exercising or walking the mall, a few hours later I have tremendous pressure on my left pelvic area and the next day I will have severe cramping. Also, during intercourse is uncomfortable, and after I have quite a bit of cramping. I went to see a new dr. 3 weeks ago. She put me on Seasonique, to try and control the cysts to help the pain. And also sent me for a pelvic and belly ultrasound. The physician performing the ultrasound informed me that I did indeed have several cysts 8 on the left ovary and only 2 on the right. She said they looked normal. She also stated that I have a bicornuate uterus that is tilted. I have to try the pill for 30 days and then I go back to go over results with my dr and a surgeon, just in case. The pills have not seemed to help at all...only seem to be getting worse and more spotting than before. So, I am just wondering what else I should look into? Am I even getting the right things checked? I am so exhausted, and tired of being in pain all of the time. Thankyou for your time!
