MENORRHAGIA: Period since the 11th, on birth control. Please help? From: Chantel! (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 23 Aug 2008 19:53:43 -0500 (CDT)
Someone please lend your advice. I have been on birth control since I was about 15. I am now 19. First, the ring, up until earlier this year, and now the pill, for at least 6 months. I normally skip periods, but the past few times it hasn't worked and I have gotten them right like clockwork around the 20th of the month. This month, it didn't come, until the 11th - and, I still have it! It hasn't gotten any lighter, and has been constant. I took more than one pregnancy test when it hadn't come, as I have a significant other with whom I am sexually active with and we tend to have sex every day, so there have been many chances of pregnancy BUT I HAVE BEEN ON BIRTH CONTROL for 4 years constantly and never had a problem. I have another test I could take, but at this point, I am worried that if I was pregnant, the bleeding is the fact that I may have damaged the child? I never in my life have had a period this long, normally mine are 4-7 days, and light by the third. Any ideas? IF it also helps, I was about a week and a half into the blue pills of my new pack, when I got my period, and ive finished that pack and started a new one, still continuing the period. I'd like to find a solution considering I just shattered my ankle, and having a period while in a cast after surgery is no picnic. :) Sincerely, Chantel
