MENORRHAGIA: Bleeding Since May 08From: Tracie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 23 Aug 2008 12:30:23 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 42 year old, overweight, wht female. I have 4 children. 2 were cessarian and 2 were vaginal deliveries. I was diagnosed and currently being treated for hypothyroidism since 2/08 and taking cynthroid 75mcg, as well as high blood pressure and currently taking Lisinopril-HCTZ20-12.5. April 2008 I started my menstrual cycle on the 14th and didn't stop until 27th. Started bleeding again on May 6th and ending May 29th. Started again June 9th and ended on July 2nd. Started again on July 14th and ended August 5th and now Aug. 7th and continuing. I had an ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound which revealed a 2cm fibroid outside the uterous as well as a endometrial biopsy which was normal. Both ovaries are normal. I had my thyroid levels checked again Aug. 5th, levels are fine. Also, was checked iron levels and they are 8 & 24, so now am taking iron supplements 2x per/day. My question is, I have been prescribed provera to help with the bleeding, if the bleeding does not stop, what are other alternatives?
