GENERAL: HELP: cramps, sweats, pre-menstrual?From: laura (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 21 Aug 2008 09:20:45 -0500 (CDT)
I was rudely awoken this morning with immense, severe cramps - 10x's more than the usual. I ran to the bathroom thinking having a bowel movement would ease the pain. I sat on the toilet for several minutes and nothing happened. Then after several more moments, I had hard stool. But the pain did not subside!! My stomach cramps felt like those I imagine I would have giving birth to a child. After several more moments, I had another round of hard stool. At this point, I felt like I was dying. My abdomen was in such pain and going to the bathroom did not help. I wanted to run and get some tylenol, but I didn't think I would make it across the apt. to the linen cabinet where my medicine is stored. In addition to the cramps, I felt extremely dizzy and weak. I finally ran and got 2 tylenols and chugged water. Mind you, while I was taking this medicine I was thinking also about the nearest phone so I could call an ambulance (that's how much pain I had). I also grabbed my heating pad and ran back to my bed after taking the 2 mentioned pills. I don't know if this is a separate symptom or my body trying to deal with the cramps, but I broke out in sweats. After about 20 minutes with the heating pad, crawled up in the fetal position, I started to feel better. I am in my late 20s, have never been pregnant, and I was expecting my period a few days ago. This has happened one other time last year, which I completely forgot about until today. Also, although I have not gotten my period yet, I am definitely not pregnant. Sometimes, I just get my period a few days late. Can anyone help me figure out what this is? I get menstrual migraines, but this does not seem to relate to my migraines. HELP!
