ADHESIONS: Endometrial hyperplasia and VagifemFrom: Moondanc (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 20 Aug 2008 21:49:24 -0500 (CDT)
Eight years ago because of heavy bleeding (I was 56 and on HRT)I had an endometrial ablation. My endo lining looked totally burned out but I continued bleeding, but not as much, and docs said it was probably because I had adenomyosis. I stopped estrogen and Prometrium for several months and haven't bled since. After the 3 months, I started on low dose Vivelle patch (.025), Vagifem and did a Prometrium challenge 3-4 times per year (200 mg P for 14 days) for several years. Still no bleeding so my gyn said I could stop the Prometrium challenges. I stopped the patch about a year ago but continue with Vagifem 3x a week. My new GP is worried about unopposed estrogen and endometrial hyperplasia and wants me to start back on Prometrium. I've always had a horrible reaction to it and would prefer not to. Should I worry about hyperplasia given the above and my ablation?
