PREGNANCY: Pain Left SideFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Aug 2008 08:49:37 -0500 (CDT)
I'm 35 weeks pregnant. For the past 36 hours I've had a pain in my upper left side. It feels like it's outside the uterus but I'm not sure. It could be at the top left of the uterus. It's almost like a burning pain that is alleviated somewhat if I walk around and keep my hand pressed lightly on the area. I had the same pain at about 32 weeks for a day or so but it went away. This pain has not enabled me to sleep properly for the last two nights. It doesn't matter if I'm lying on my left or right side. The pain stays in the same area. This is my fourth pregnancy and I didn't have a similar pain with the other three that I carried to term. Is this pain just ligmaments or muscles stretching out? I was a normal weight prepregnancy and I have not yet gained 25lbs so I don't think I'm extraordinarily big with this pregnancy. Any insight or advice on how to alleviate would be greatly appreciated.
