I have been a chaperone nurse .As a Nurse Practitioner, I have had a chaperone under necessary circumstances, for instance if the patient wanted one or suffered from mental illness.I have learned a lot about patient care acting as a chaperone. Also,I have also gotten to see abnormalities and learn about these conditions.Personally,I wouldn't work with a Doctor I wouldn't let examine me.Male Doctors are often as compassionate and caring as well as competent as female MD's I was taught my Nurse Practitioner ways by Male MD's.As far as the sexual manner, whether it is towards you or the patient ,you need to follow your Board of Nursing guidelines. If you have human resources where you work ,it would be advised to go there. For my care ,I arrange to be examined by males and females .I am greatful to have both helping with my care.It will be interesting to hear what others have to say.
