Hi,

I have been to the doctor every other day for the past two weeks. It started when I had a burning sensation during sex, we stopped and I made an apt to see my doc the next day. I had an IUD put in three months ago and thought perhaps that was the cause of the problem. The doc said that the IUD was in place and also told me that I had a lot of yellowish discharge and an abundance of white blood cells. She tested me for Chlamydia and gonorrhea (both negative) and gave me some antibiotics to take. During the next few days I had intense abdominal pain moving all over my abdomin both high and low.

I returned to my doc and she was puzzled why the antibiotics didnt help. She again observed "too many white blood cells" and gave me a shot and loaded me up again with antibotics to take over the next two weeks.

After a week and a half I returned. Still same problems. By this time the pain had subsided and only comes and goes but is very minimal and dull. She says the IUD is in place however she sees the discharge comming from the cervix. She again gave me another shot and told me to continue taking the antibiotics.

I have an apt w her tomorrow and I am still having a heavy oderless mucus like yellowish discharge, and occassional (but dull) pain. No fever and no bleeding.

She is puzzled and so am I. She called an IUD expert who told her that perhaps it is Strep B and we are treating it as such however we have yet to get a culture done for that.

What could this be?
