GENERAL: Oopherectomy question - RepostFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 6 Aug 2008 10:10:06 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I had my left overy & tube removed about a month ago because of endometriosis & endometriomas and laser removal of endometriosis and removal of adhesions. I am still having some pain from the surgery, but am starting to feel like myself again. I do have a few questions though. My period just ended and I still had a lot of cramping during my period and pain on the left side. Should I still be having pain on the left side if the ovary and tube are now gone? Also, should the menstrual cramps be less if I just had the endometriosis removed? Since the surgery, my bladder has been aching...is this normal after this type of surgery? I also have an area right next to my belly button on the left side that is swollen (about the size of a soft ball) but it is not tender....would this be just from the surgery? Last question...since I only have one ovary does that mean I will only ovulate and menstruate every other month? Thanks!
