MENORRHAGIA: constant bleeding and no real diagnosis Help Please! From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 3 Aug 2008 23:50:59 -0500 (CDT)
In October of last year I started having 13 days a month of daily light bleeding and a heavy 7 day period. So I bleed for 20 days out of the month every month. My OB changed my birth control pill from Yaz to Yasmin thinking the stronger hormone would fix it. When it didn't I quit taking the pill all together. The bleeding still persisted so my OB checked my thyroid- I do have hypothyroidism but I'm on Synthroid for it. My levels were fine. He did a Pap, internal exam and a vaginal U/S. His diagnosis is that I have a very thin endometrial lining and that's why I'm bleeding. He says I should have the Novasure Uterine ablation done or wait and see if it stops on it's own. 3 months later it's still going strong. He didn't do any other labs or an endometrial biopsy. I wanting the bleeding to stop but dh and I would like to have another baby. MY OB says I can't get pregnant with a thin uterine lining. What do I do?? Should I see someone else for a second opinion? I trust him I just wonder if he's doing everything he possibly can for me. I'm only 28 and I have 2 children. Thanks!
