Have you received any responses? My situation is similar to yours although most of the body changes I am experiencing have been in the last six months. I saw by Gyn yesterday for an annual exam (the first in several years) and a discussion on perimenopause. During the exam, my normally conservative Gyn who doesn't worry too much over things that cause me to lose sleep, indicated my left ovary and cervix both looked great. The right side, however, could not be checked because of thickening in the pelvic area and she recommended an ultrasound - out of the ordinary for her. She said that it could be nothing, just scar tissue from four c-sections, but she wants to explore it further. Now I am scared to death. I have many of the same symptoms you described below (weird period changes, hot flashes, extreme water retention, heart flutter, emotional basket case, can't sleep-which has never been a problem and pain all over my body). Now I am wondering if my seemingly out of control hormone problem is stemming from something with my ovary. I'm 38 and would appreciate any input.
