I am having what I think is a hormonal problem. I have talked to my GP about it, and he recommeded going to the OBGYN. Here are my symptoms: They have majorly occurred over the last 2-3 cycles:

1. I get major water retention around the time of ovulation... My breasts swell, fingers, somewhat around waistline, and sometimes puffy in the face. This will sometime abate about 1.5wk later, only to return with a vengance a few days before my period is due. I end up with only about 1.5wk of feeling normal.

2. During this time, my breast hurt tremendously, and I feel achy, and I get heart palpitations.

3. I also should mention that this has gotten worse over the past few months, and during those months, at ovulation, I got severe, almost debilitating, ovulation cramps/pain that lasted a few days, then slowly abates. I have had functional cysts in the past, and had a trans vag US nine months ago which was normal.

4. I had a physical recently and all blood/urine tests were normal (chem panel/kidneys/liver). The only test that was suspect was my thyroid. My TSH is very normal (1.3) but my Free T4 is a little low (0.8). GP started me on 25mcg synthroid, but it gave me symptoms of hyper, so I am ramping up more slowly.

5. I had an endometrial ablation for heavy, painful periods, and bleeding in between periods in Dec 07. Now, I have no periods, but do still spot most of the time.

I am seeing my gyno in September, but would like more info from this forum.

Thanks for any help.

Jazzy
