Hi Becca,
This is not unusual at all.I was regular all my life and then my cycles
went haywire. Last month I missed completely and this period I have
spotted for 10 days before and this one has lasted 10 days so far. This
has been going on for a year and a half now. I have had all sorts of
ultrasounds, blood tests etc but never a biopsy. I was worried as you
are and asked the doctor to give me a endometrial biopsy to check for
cancer. He stated that with the biopsy, they take a sample from one
area in your uterus. He said if I wanted to be sure and more thorough I
should have a D&C and they will have all the removed tissue sent out for
biopsy. I had the procedure this past February and the results were
good so it really eased my mind. Good luck and take care.
