MENORRHAGIA: tissue, watery discharge, no period, negative HPTFrom: deane (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 20 Jul 2008 11:50:15 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 30 year old female with PCOS and hypothyroidism. I have irregular cycles, ranging anywhere from 26 to 90 days. The average cycle is about six weeks. My last period started on 06/01/08. I am not on birth control pills and I had unprotected sex during the 7th and 8th day of my cycle and a condom failure two weeks ago. I have been intermittently passing pieces of white tissue when I urinate for about 2-3 weeks. These range in size from tiny to three or four pieces that were as big as a quarter. I am being treated for a possible UTI (symptoms are urinary frequency and microscopic blood in my urine). I have been having mid-back pain as well and kidney stones were suspected, but ruled out after a normal CT scan. I have not had my period yet, but for the past 3 days I have had pink water discharge about 1-2 times a day on the toilet tissue after urinating. I am pretty sure this is vaginal, as I can hold the tissue up to that area and it will come away a little pink. I also have passed small pink and gray pieces of tissue for the past three days. I have no PMS symptoms (which is very unusual for me) other than a mild acne breakout. I took a home pregnancy test 10 days ago and it was negative. Could I be pregnant? I think it's unlikely with the tissue, but I'm going to wait a couple more days and take another test if no period. If I'm not pregnant, is this normal or should I be concerned? Does anyone else have experience with this? I have such irregular periods and odd PMS symptoms, I never know what to expect. Because I have PCOS, my gyno had me take progesterone for 10 days in March of this year to make sure my uterine lining was shed completely, but other than that, I've not taken any meds. Thanks.
