Re: UROGYNECOLOGY: Post-op and urinary incontinence - options listFrom: caitcon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 3 Jul 2008 09:05:57 -0500 (CDT)
Thanks for your reply. I have an appointment with my doctor this coming Monday. As I said before he has not seen me in three months and the urge incontinence problems didn't develop until about two months ago. He is a urogynecologist and has almost 30 years of experience. He is not affiliated with a major teaching hospital but is well known for his work in this area. All of the things you are suggesting, pessary, self-catherization and bulking agents, I have brought up with him. He didn't want to do pessaries, because as of three months ago I did not have enough prolapse, plus I am having pain issues in this area too. Self catherization was his last line of defense, only if everything else fails. But I have tried uricholine, Enablex, Vesicare and Sanctura, none of them seem to work. Can you recommend a clinic that is within driving distance of Michigan? University of Michigan is within 3 hours of me, Cleveland Clinic probably within 5 hours of me. Thanks again, I appreciate the input, as a patient it is not always easy to decide what the next step should be.
