CONTRACEPTION: Trouble Inserting IUDFrom: Samantha R (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 25 Jun 2008 05:57:46 -0500 (CDT)
I am 20 week spost partum and went in to have an IUD put in yesterday. While in labour the doctors had trouble examining me to see how dsilated I was and the doctor had trouble getting the speculum in the right place yesterday ( I have had multiple cancer treatments and this has never been an issue before). At the end of the visit he advised that I should come back and be put to sleep to have the IUD inserted. Is it possible that my uterus and cervix have changed position due to my pregnancy? Is it common for women to have to be put to sleep to have an IUD inserted? I am really confused an questioning whether or not to have this procedure done at all.
