Hi Leigh, First, it is best to be sure you are not pregnant. One thing you can do is start your birth control pills the very first day of your period.Another idea is called Quick Start researched at Columbia University in New York. This plan involves starting the birth contol pills without a period, after being sure you are not pregnant. I believe in back up methods when starting a new method such as condoms. Also, when enjoying your vacation,if you change time zones ,be sure to take your pills at your home zone time.
