CONTRACEPTION: no period, off the pill

Hi there, I know that this problem has come up a lot in the archives and I know that it can take 3 or more months for your period to resume as usual after stopping the pill. I am just wondering, however, if the amount of time you have been taking the pill effects how long it will take for your period to come back? I was on the pill for about 2 years and I was forced to stop when the bag with my pack of pills in it was stolen. I was only a week or so into the pack, and I wasn't at home so I couldn't get back to my pharmacy to pick up more pills until a few days later. So I decided to stop taking my pills for now, thinking that I could just pick up again when my period started again. It has now been six weeks since my last pill, no period yet. Does the fact that I finished only a week of that pack mean that I have completely messed up my system? I haven't been sexually active, so I am certain I am not pregnant. But it's really a weird feeling to go so long between periods. If anyone has any tips or advice, I would really appreciate it because I'm starting to worry. What should I do? Thank you, Lisa
