CYSTS: The after-effects of Bartholin's gland surgeryFrom: Cath (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 18 Jun 2008 16:08:25 -0500 (CDT)
I had a Bartholin's gland cyst removed (I'm unsure of the exact procedure) in January of 2006. It was day surgery and I was put to sleep. No cysts have re-occured since then, and I have only felt a small scar since then. Recently my boyfriend noticed there was an extra hole where my cyst used to be, about 1.5cm in length - almost like a gash. I thought nothing of it until I decided to feel around and look for myself. There is no blood coming from it, but I do believe it is quite a deep hole. What concerns me the most is that I don't remember having this for the past 2 years since the surgery. Has anyone else had this surgery and problem? Is it healthy? I recently started having sex about 2 months ago (I was a virgin before this), could this just be the natural reshaping of my vagina that caused me to notice, or is the scar ripping? I have had no pain since I discovered, only minimal pain which is probably me thinking too hard about it.
