The syptoms you describe lead me to believe that there are sutures remaining in the vagina that are probably causing the symptons your husband complains of . Have your Gyn examine you, to rule out this possibility. Another possibility is a type of ridge created by suturing of the vault. Both can be ruled out with a thorough exam

Hysterectomy is not s msndated procedure for this condition. Yes there is an increased risk of endometrial cancer but I would suggest a thorough curettage and if the tissue is not atypical I would use megace for three months and then repeat the evaluation. I have treated many women for this condition in this manner and have never been sorry.
