GENERAL: bump in vaginal wall....worried!!From: Alana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 22:03:47 -0500 (CDT)
I am 24 years old and I first noticed this about 2 1/2 years ago, but I just never really thought much about it till recently, I guess cause I just started nursing school and im more aware of things, but..... I felt a large knot, about the size of a grape in my vaginal wall, just to the left of my cervix....then within the next month or so it shrunk down to the size of a fingertip, then after another month it shrunk to the size of a pea and it is hard. It has remained the size of a pea for the past 2 years....my periods are regular, i have regular normal pap smears, and I have had a ruptured cyst on my ovary before...I have occasional, slight pain in the area during my cycle, but it doesn't really bother me. My GYN could not feel it when I asked her too, but she said that sometimes after sex there my be a little tear that my heal up with some fluid in it.....Im wondering if it is anything serious to worry about since it was large and then shrunk down so small. (i wouldnt think a tumor wouldn't do that), I would greatly appreciate any reply. Thanks
