ENDOMETRIOSIS: Endometriomas and pelvic painFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 14:26:32 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I am a 40 year old with endometriosis. I have had approximately 6 laser laparoscopies to remove endometriosis and adhesions. For about the past year, I have had increasing pain & cramping and a lot of left sided pain. Today, I saw an endometriosis specialist and had an US done. My right ovary is approximately 40mmx33mm with a cyst on it. My left ovary is approximately 55mmx39mm with two large endometriomas on it. My doctor is recommending another laparoscopy with possible left ovary & tube removal depending on if there is endo in the ovary or not. They also said that my left ovary is "turning". I also had a CT that shows enlarged lymph nodes "consistent with messenteric adenitis". I did schedule surgery for 6/24, but I'm wondering what would happen if I decided not to have the surgery and wait it out. My physician said it is most likely stage 4 endo and it probably won't resolve at this point with just birth control pills or depo-provera without surgery. Do the doctors on this forum agree with that? Also, how would endometriosis get in the ovary? Thanks!
