I have an appointment scheduled with my gynecologist for June 18, but want to be prepared when I go.

I have such random, confusing symptoms, that I fear a serious problem could be overlooked -- even by my doctor!

A little background: I was "diagnosed" with chlamydia about a year ago and promptly treated for it -- I'm 23 now and have been sexually active since I was 20 -- I have no idea when I contracted the STD. About 6 months later (I *think*) I had my regular check up and my pap smear came back abnormal; it was followed up with a colonoscopy that revealed I was 100% okay, at least in that respect.

All along, for a year and a half I'd say, I've had some difficulty with sex. Painful entrance (probably due to dryness) and depending on how rough/dry the encounter, some prolonged vaginal discomfort (outside, not internally) and stinging during urination -- after sex -- goes away after an hour and ONLY happens after sex. Actual sexual intercourse doesn't hurt.

As well, for more than a couple of years, I've had the reputation of peeing a LOT -- not a huge bother, but occasionally gets on my nerves. I probably get up to go pee 4 times a night and go a lot during the day. No pain or anything, just high frequency. Never have discussed this with a health care provider, because it's not really a 'problem' per say -- I'm used to it.

What prompted me to make this most recent doctor's appointment is that I had some spotting after sex. No pain, but I did bleed a little -- it was a much rougher encounter than normal. This has happened twice over the past year -- I've assumed it was just due to a rougher encounter.

My doctor said my BC was causing some dryness -- which would explain some of the symptoms above, but certainly not all. I've been monogamous for about a year. I have been on birth control for about 2 years, 2 different pills. Necon is the current one.

I want to have kids some day and cancer is common in my family; I want to be as safe as possible but my symptoms are so random, that I don't know how to get a doctor to diagnose anything in particular.
