A paracervical block is used to numb the cervix so you can dilate the opening for procedures, such as the HSG. Think of it like using novocaine to numb the teeth prior to dental work. It sounds like the HSG was successful. Your cervical opening, called the "os," should go back to normal with a few days of the HSG. Good luck getting pregnant.
