CONTRACEPTION: SeasonaleFrom: Blondie77 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 2 Jun 2008 19:56:51 -0500 (CDT)
I have been on Seasonale for about five years. I have never had any problems with irregular bleeding or spotting up until about six months ago. I have now begun spotting after everytime I have sexual intercourse. It is dark brown period like blood, not bright red or anything. The sex is not painful at all. I usually spot for a week sometimes longer after I have sex. Sometimes douching will make it stop. I spoke to my doctor about it and she said that after awhile sometimes your body just gets used to a pill and does what it wants to do. This was true for me with orthocept too, after awhile my periods were really long again and I had painful cramps. I have also been told by another doctor that the lining of the uterus gets really thin and any sort of "intrusion" will make it shed. This is really cramping my sex life and sometimes the blood even ends up on my parther after sex. If I don't have sex, I don't spot at all. Help, what can I do? Is this info true or should I be concerned? What if I switch to Lybel someting else will that change. I really don't want to go back to a monthly period, but I'm afraid I will bleed if I have sex. Thanks
