Re: UROGYNECOLOGY: STRICTURE AND CYSTOSCOPY - Looking for a doctor's responseFrom: Tara RN (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 May 2008 00:02:08 -0500 (CDT)
I'm not a doctor, but have you got a second opinion from another urologist? Strictures are narrowings in the canal and can be caused by a bunch of things. It is not normal to have strictures following bladder infections. It does happen to some people, but most people recover without incident. It sounds like you have a resistant organism that is causing your infections as well. Do you know what the organism is? Sometimes bugs like MRSA or VRE can be very hard to kill with even the strongest antibiotics. Sorry I don't have any really good words of wisdom for you, but I do feel bad that you have suffered with this.
