ENDOMETRIOSIS: Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction in a non-pregnant womanFrom: Tara RN (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 May 2008 20:10:25 -0500 (CDT)
Is it plausible that prolonged continuous birth control for endometriosis could cause loosened pelvic ligaments and tendons? (Similar to what happens to the pelvis from Relaxin during pregnancy.) I have recently been having terrible problems with my hips coming out of their sockets and into my tailbone. I also can click and crack my symphysis pubis bone back into place almost hourly. A prominent orthopedic surgeon didn't know what was going on and my physical therapist was at a loss after putting my hips back in over 20 times. Very fustrating. I waddle and limp when I walk and even stand sometimes like a sway back pregnant person. I'm very thin so this looks very odd! Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. I feel like my whole lower body does not have any stability.
