Thank you. My resting insulin levels are normal, as well as prolactin, testosterone and free T levels. My thyroid was thoroughly investigated by my naturopath. About 2 years ago when I orignally started on Clomid I was put on Metformin as well without any insulin testing. However, I did not ovulate for the first 3 mths and I discontinued the treatment cycle. I started again this past fall and ovulated right from the first month any every month following for the 6 month course of treatment. Could a problem with my pituitary gland cause similar symptoms to PCOS? Or perhaps endometriosis? I came to accept the monthly pain I experience (along with other classic symptoms of endo) as a part of the PCOS. I should also note at 2 years of age I was put under investigation at the children's hospital due to a few pubic hairs developing. After some blood testing and no significant results my mother discontinued the investigation. However, no one has ever checked my pituitary directly via CAT scan, etc. Is this something in your opinion that should be further investigated? I had assumed that my gyn. would have referred me on to a RE if he saw fit but there has never been any mention of it on his part. Would an RE conduct these types of tests?
