BREASTFEEDING: Elevated alkaline phosphate levels abd breastfeedingFrom: Audreybix (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 27 May 2008 17:11:17 -0500 (CDT)
My primary care doctor told me I have an elevated alkaline phosphates level of 156. She said all my other labs, CBC, LFT's, kidney function tests, were normal. I am in the process of getting a work up for the elevated alkaline phosphate level. So far, the only cause I can find for an increased level are all pretty scary (multiple myeloma for example)or not plausible for me (I'm definitely not pregnant right now). I am still breastfeeding my 9 month old son and I am wondering if this could be causing the increased blood levels of alkaline phosphate. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
