I am sorry that you had a difficult time. I have a signifigant heart history such that I have EKGs yearly. The older EKG machines require leads to be placed on the legs and arms as well as the chest. The archaic machines have you wired like Frankenstein and a suction cup on the chest that was moved about 10 times during the test. The newer machines do NOT require the placement of the leads on the legs and arms.

It is best that you remove your bra for this procedure.

Only your dr. can decide if a yearly EKG is necessary given your circumstances. It is a non-invasive diagnostic test that could save your health - why not?

Good luck.
