SEPTATEDHYMEN: Septated Hymen

From: ConfusedTeen (anonymous@obgyn.net)

I'm 18, I just started having sex with my boyfriend, and it has been very painful. I thought that it was just because it was the first time, but after a couple more times, it still hurt. I checked and I'm definitely sure I have a septated hymen. I've had trouble getting tampons out before, because the string catches on them when pulling them out. I think my hymen is thicker than most people, because I've pulled on it to try to get tampons out, and it won't break.

I'm really nervous to talk to my mom about this, and my doctor is really hard to talk to. Is there any way to remove the part myself without hurting myself? I was thinking about just trying to cut it, but I didn't want to hurt myself. I'm really, really don't want to talk to a doctor about it. My doctor, at the least, can't fit me in for another three months, and my insurance doesn't cover anything else.

Sincerely, ConfusedTeen
