Hi I'm not anyone professional or anything just a women who uses tampons. I'm 26 now and I remember my first time I tried. My mom was the one who encouraged me because I wanted to go swimming in the pool (we were at a pool party) and I couldn't do it my first time either. I know that if your nervous and panicky (they way you described your one daughter) your muscles tighten and nothings getting in there. But that was when I was about 11 and then I when I was in middle school my best friend used tampons so that made me want to try again and it was fine (and I was a virgin) but that was probably a year or 2 after the first incident. I do have a cousin she's like my mom's age or just a bit younger but I'm very close with her and she's never been able to use tampons she told me. I remember this because when I was about 15 we were at the grocery store and she bought pads and I was like eeewww you use pads why don't you use tampons? And she said she couldn't and she had always been like that, I guess she tried but once it was in her body had a reaction or something I'm not sure but I've known other people who were dead set on not using tampons either. Why I don't know. Maybe your girls are just not ready and need some time. I've never heard of a "septate hymen" but I know the first time you do use a tampon it does tear your hymen so that must cause a bit of pain as well. Just some things to think about.
