ULTRASOUND: TransvaginalFrom: Shannon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat May 17 12:48:05 2008
I am at the point of figuring out what is responsible or not. I am having abdominal bloating. I've had it for years with 3 colonoscopies and 3 endoscopies. I had blood in my stool and w/direa. The doctors first found me to have a parasaite infection. We ate at a resturant years ago and we all got sick. The last two exams were for the same thing, but appeared when I was 'stressed'. They tried to tell me I have crohns or colitis, however all the biopies were fine. The gastro docs didn't know what to do when I didn't fall into the 'diganosis' of anything. Anyway I had another 'bout' of it the last few weeks. Oh I also have celiac, and tend to eat carbs anyway. I'm under a lot of stress regarding finances. I've been on birth control for 5 years and 4 years before that with a one year break. I'm 38 and tend to be a hypocondriac. My question is with addominal bloating should I ask my doc to send me in for a transvaginal ultrasound just to be sure? I don't want to find out I had ovarian cancer and be like 'darn'. Or is it likely the IBS/?. I am having trouble determining when to let something just 'be' or when to pursue more information? thanks
