PREGNANCY: Placenta positionFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 13 18:10:18 2008
I am 21 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. I had a miscarriage last year at 12 weeks. I had a regularly scheduled ultrasound at 20 weeks with a certified sonographer at my ob/gyn's office and she didn't mention an issue. When I spoke to the ob/gyn after the visit she said she hadn't seen the results of the ultrasound. Since then I received a call from an office nurse saying that I need to go for a Level 2 ultrasound and when pressed as to why she said it was because they are unsure of the position of the placenta. She then said the doctor thought it was at the top of the uterus. So my question is: Could the doctor who has many years (over 20) experience be that confused about the placental position as it think it was at the top but it could be at the bottom? I am very worried as I hardly feel this baby move and had no symptoms with my last miscarriage. The first three pregnancies were full term normal delivery babies.
