Hi, I am a sixteen years old female and my doctor made me do a bone density test because I have not had my period yet. The results showed a sign of -3 from the standard deviation, and my doctor was a bit concerned about this number. My gnecologist is making me take birth control pills and calcium supplements, and I am just wondering if this number is anormal among young girls my age. Will my bone grow back to become more dense if I take calcium supplements? ( I know that bone will still grow until age 30 in most women). Please help.. What course of action should I take to get rid of the osterporsis... apparently my doctor said i have the bones of a 60 year old woman????
