GYNECOLOGIC: Another Bacterial Vaginosis Question

I posted a few days ago about pH testing for BV. I did have my doctor
do the pH testing and it was abnormal. She prescribed a 7 day course of
flagyl orally, 500mg twice a day, which I started today.
My question is, how long for this to start working?
Also, in addition to the pH testing, my doctor did a culture and sent it
out. What might this culture reveal that the pH test didn't already
tell us?
